o  Their use of the Ark of God as a good luck charm because they were losing the battle (once again without consulting God or even repentance of their actions)

o  The death of Eli and his sons (fulfillment of God’s promised judgement)

o  The naming of the child “Ichabod,” which means the glory has departed

o  Because of their selfish actions, God has truly judged them

Now the Ark of God is in the hands of the Philistines

o  Not only did the Ark cause problems for the Israelites because of their misuse of it, it also is causing problems for the Philistines and their gods
