"Preach the Word"

Paul issues a charge to Timothy after talking about the inspired word of God. He says, “I charge you therefore…”

o  The charge is a forceful command

o  “before God and the Lord Jesus Christ

§ In the presence of God and Jesus

§ The one who will judge the living and the dead when He appears

§ For the Christian, this judgement will be as an evaluation, we are not subject to the condemnation

§ The appearing is referring to the second coming

§ This is an urgent charge from Paul, he is nearing the end of his life

§ And it is urgent because of what is to come

§ Paul has told Timothy about the perilous times in the last days

§ It is of utmost importance to do
